About the Sign PDF
Most PDFs that need a signature are ordinary documents: a tenancy agreement, a timesheet, a consent form, a supplier contract. Printing, signing, scanning and emailing them back takes twenty minutes and a printer. The online alternatives want an account, cap free signatures at a handful a month, and upload the document to do it.
This signer runs in your browser. Open a PDF, draw your signature with a mouse, trackpad or finger, or type your name and pick it up in a handwriting style, then drag it into place and resize it with the corner handle. Add your printed name, today's date or initials as text boxes in the same way, on any page.
When you download, the signature and text are stamped onto the original pages. Everything else about the document is left untouched, text stays selectable, and the file never leaves your device. There is no account, no watermark and no monthly quota.
It is worth being clear about what kind of signature this is. It is the digital equivalent of signing a printout: an image of your signature on the page. That is what most everyday agreements need. It is not a certificate-based digital signature that proves the file was not changed afterwards. Documents that require one, such as some government and court filings, need a dedicated signing service.
