Suggest a tool

There are 38 tools here. Most of them exist because somebody had a task that was annoying enough to complain about. If you have one, this is the place.

Describe the task rather than the feature. Knowing what you are trying to finish tells us more than a name does.

Only used to tell you when the tool exists. Never added to a list, never passed on.

What tends to get built

Not everything can be. The constraint that decides most of it is that the work has to happen in your browser — no server, no upload, no queue. That rules out anything needing a licensed dataset, a paid API, or a machine bigger than a laptop.

Within that, the suggestions that turn into tools usually share three things:

  • It is a task you repeat. Something you do monthly beats something you did once.
  • The existing options are bad in a specific way — they upload your file, or they paywall the export, or they get the maths wrong.
  • It finishes in one screen. Tools here are meant to be opened, used and closed, not learned.

Other ways to help

Corrections count for as much as requests. If a calculator disagrees with your bank, or a converter mangles a file, that is worth more to us than a new idea — tell us on the contact page and include enough detail to reproduce it.

If you want to know what happens to what you send: the suggestion is stored, along with your email if you gave one, and nothing else. The privacy policy covers it.
