About the project quote calculator
Quoting a fixed price for a project is a bet on your own estimate. This calculator makes the bet explicit by forcing the work into named tasks, each with its own hours and rate, so the number you send a client is traceable back to something you can defend in a conversation.
Add a line per task. Design, build, revisions, project management, testing — whatever the shape of the work. Each line takes an hour estimate and an hourly rate, because not every task is worth the same; senior strategy time and production time can sit in the same quote at different prices. Fixed costs such as stock photography, fonts, hosting or a subcontractor go in their own section so they are not marked up as labour.
The contingency percentage is the important control. Fixed-price work goes over on almost every project that involves another human's opinion, and a buffer between ten and twenty-five percent is the difference between absorbing a round of revisions and losing money on them. The summary shows the quote with and without the buffer so you can see exactly what you are protecting.
The output is a clean summary you can print to PDF or send as a link. It lists each task with its hours, the fixed costs, the buffer and the total, which is far easier for a client to approve than a single unexplained number.
Signed in, quotes are saved and can be reopened, adjusted and re-sent — useful when a client comes back three weeks later asking what a slightly smaller version would cost.
